12/20/08 Elk Creek P.A
I wanted to post regarding one of my most recent trips into Erie for the Chrome monsters. We arrived at Elk around 0830 to find clear water but olive green water in the deeper sections. We used flies and sacks all day. I managed to bring to land at least 30 fish. I never had a day so good. We found a spot holding at least 200 fish. We fished an upper part of Elk around Follies end. I will be adding some short videos to my blog in the next few days. The weather has changed and so will the creek and river conditions. Keep the reels screaming and Happy New Year to all.

fished a trib in Ohio today with my daughter. We started out at 12:00 Pm and fished till 4:00pm. I used egg sacks and she used single egg patterns below me. We had a great day. We landed about 15 fish. She used orange and Chart single eggs and I used brown trout in all colors. The main big waters should be fishing on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Grand will take a few days longer. Keep the reels screaming

Water Conditions 12/27/08
Eugene and I made the trip up into P.A for the day to search for new water. We found 20 mile and all the tribs high and muddy. We drove Rt 5 almost all the way back into Ohio viewing 20,16,7,4 Walnut and Elk. We also checked all the tribs in Ohio on the East side. The mile streams should fish late Sunday or Monday as long as the rain holds off. Ohio rivers will need a few more days to clear. The feeders should fish Sunday or Monday. Keep the reels screaming

12/21/08 Elk Creek P.A
I wanted to post about a recent trip into P.A. Myself and a couple of friends went up Sunday and the slush burned off around 11:30am. We found fish in all the deep runs and holes. We used single egg patterns and Lazer yarn. I have attached a couple of pics from the outing. Marty landed a bunch this day and had a great time with Joe. See attached pics. I also want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season. I know we will be out after the rain this week. Keep the reels screaming

12/18/08 Ohio
I wanted to post regarding our trip today. We started out on a East side trib. We used several different fly patterns. We also used egg sacks (browns) in all different colors. We both went into the double digits for this one location. We fished it for several hours and had a great time. The fish were mixed with fresh and old. The water at that time was low and clear. Ohio Tribs 12/16/08
I wanted to drop a line about the water conditions in Ohio. The rivers are clearing slowly but some are giving up good numbers of fresh Silver. The tribs that feed the major rivers are clear with just a few fish in the deeper sections. We have been using single eggs, sucker spawn and egg sacks. The egg sacks have been the top producers with these cold conditions. If you want info on Ohio streams send me an e-mail and I will respond. We plan on hitting Erie on Friday or maybe a few Ohio tribs along the border. Keep the reels screaming

12/13/08 Chagrin River Ohio
Ken and I fished the chagrin on Saturday with lots of fresh fish. We used Chart sucker spawn seeing the conditions were a bit murky. As of today Sunday 12/14/08 all the tribs in Ohio except the Grand are fishable. Keep the reels screaming.

12/09/08 Chagrin River Ohio
I fished the Chagrin River in Ohio with Steve Wheeler. We found fish in all the usual places. We fished the upper section of the river all the way up to the dam. I have attached a picture of just one of the fish. We used single eggs, sucker spawn, lazer yarn and others. The best colors yesterday before the mud took over was pink. All the tribs are up and some are at flood stage. The rivers will start to clear around Friday but the feeders will fish before that. Keep the reels screaming

Walnut / Elk Creek P.A 12/3/08
We fished the lower section of Walnut today. The water was low and clear. We found fish in all the deep cuts below the crowds. We saw groups of guys and fished below them using orange single eggs and white sucker spawn. We then fished two sections on Elk and found fish in the same spots in the deeper runs and holes. The water flow was up and still a bit off color. We used Chart sucker spawn and chart eggs on Elk. Both tribs produced fish. Keep the reels screaming

New York Outing
We recently headed up into the great state of New York. We arrived Saturday morning around 0430. We started on Oak Orchard and never left for two days. We located a spot along the upper stretch. We all 10 of us spread out along the river for a couple of great days. We fished using the usual and ended up with the pics below. The water on Oak was clear but we had a good number of fish move in just a few days before we arrived. We managed to take about 50 Browns total between all of us. We also fished Eighteen mile on Monday but not the same numbers as on Oak. I have attached some pics. I still have a few more pics to add later. Keep the reels screaming.

Elk Creek
I was out all weekend fishing Elk Creek P.A. The water is very low the lowest I have seen it in years. They do have fish but not the numbers as in the past. The fish have only entered the lower sections. The bite was light for the past two days. Some guys are catching fish but with no flow the presentation is not good. I used single eggs all weekend with about 1 dozen hook ups. We need rain and a bunch of it. All of Ohio is low and clear also. Keep the reels screaming

Posting
I wanted to drop another line for the guy who wrote and told me not to post about Ohio tribs. You guys need to get a life. It was not Screamingreels who screwed up the tribs. It's the fisherman who disrespect others and their property. Myself and my other guides who work for screamingreels have a leave no trace policy. We respect others and the fishing industry. Keep you comments to yourself. Keep the reels screaming.
Sept 30 2008
I wanted to drop a line and let some readers know that we are getting a good amount of rain today. Most if not all the tribs should have some flow and the steelhead should be running into the tribs. Keep the reels screaming.

Steelhead Dreams
Well I made it out Friday to catch some chrome. We fished the Grand River in Ohio and it was holding some good numbers of fish. The hot bait was a olive wolly bugger. The fish are holding in the lower sections and in the lake at the mouth waiting for some rain and water. The temps will be dropping this week and the rain may soon arrive. Keep the reels screaming

8/21/08 Steelhead Season
I wanted to drop a line and let my fellow steelheaders know that the streams on the lower sections of the tribs are holding fish. One of my guides was out today and he was hitting a few using black flies. Keep the reels screaming

Steelhead Alley
I wanted to drop a line and let all my readers know that they are back. The chrome is running up as we speak. They are in all the lower sections of the tribs making the run. If the heat returns they may return back into the lake. Some fish will be trapped and held in the deeper sections of the creeks and rivers. During this year keep an eye out for homeowners and thank them for letting us fish on their property. Respect all others and have a leave no trace policy when you head out this year. This should be another great year. Keep the reels screaming. Some recent pics of chrome have been attached.
Ashtabula River Ohio
I wanted to post regarding the Ashtabula River Ford. Recently this area has been fished very hard by everyone. I would like to thank all those who did not read the signs posted by OCBS causing this area to be closed. This area is now off limits posted no trespassing fishing or hunting. Some local guys want to blame it on Ohio and P.A Guides. I just want people to know I do not have dogs that go out with me on trips. I do not fish in posted areas with clients. Myself and staff have a leave no trace policy. We are all able to read and don't impersonate ODNR. Those who could not read did violate the homeowners rights and failed all fisherman not just steelheaders. We as fisherman should respect all others on the tribs. We all need to have the same leave no trace policy. Keep the reels screaming.

8/17/08 Steelhead Season
Well the steelhead season is about to begin and has begun for some. We have been having cold temps at night and cold rain and that has brought some chrome into the lower sections of the tribs. I will be selling some materials and flies in the near future. The flies will be a selection in a fly box. I also have a bunch of fly tying material if anyone is interested. If you need something drop me an e-mail. Keep the reels screaming

Ohio Fishing
I just wanted to drop a line and let you know like they say on 12 mile it's not over yet. We have been hitting the big tribs and finding big fish. Today one of my guides landed a 17+ fish. I have spoken to a bunch of guys and they are having a great time. We all have our own thoughts regarding this great fish. You have to remember to give back not only take. Keep the reels screaming.

Mr. Williams,
Thank you so much for the great fishing trip. It was so fun to hook some fish that were that big. After we were done I begged my Dad to stay longer and fish more. I am really excited to go out again. Thank you for spending the time to really teach me to cast and what to look for when I am fishing. I really learned a lot.
Tyler
My comments,
Bob,
Thanks for the awesome day. I have been fly fishing for a couple of years and have a lot to learn which is why this was so beneficial to me. Since that day I have gone out 4 more times and used what I learned to average 10-12 hook-ups per time which is a lot better then my typical 1-3 hook-ups. The time you spent with my son Tyler was invaluable to his interest and knowledge of fishing. It will insure a lot more father and son time in the future. I look forward to getting out again with you.
Thanks again

Bob,
Thanks for arranging our first Steelhead fly fishing trip on the Grand river with George. My son Marcus and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience mainly because of the friendly expert instruction we received . George took us to a great location which happened to be loaded with the most beautiful fish. Thanks to his great attention and instruction, he had my son hooking' up with monster sized trout from the time we arrived until we literally had to pull the boy out of the river! I even landed a few myself. Thanks again to George. We look forward to our next trip with Screaming Reels Guides and I am telling all of our fishing friends about the great time we had.

Bob, we had a great time yesterday. You were both a superb host and fantastic guide, you got all three of the boys on fish. I know that Dr's. Jerry and Jason Brodkey had a great time too. You are the best around, thanks for the awesome photos of my son Tom. You helped all of us make some great memories Bob. I hope we can go again soon.

Ohio Fishing
We fished the Grand River in the morning with a bunch of nice fish all over. We fished until after a good lunch and then went to another trib. Upon arriving to the next trib we found nice fish in the deep sections and on the beds. We did manage to get a few fish and I have attached a couple of pics. Keep the reels screaming
Grand River Ohio
We fished the Grand River in Ohio on 4/10/08 and found a bunch of nice fresh fish. We had a great day using wooly buggers and big egg sucking leaches. The water had a tink and good flow but was clearing on this day. The sun was high and the food was great. Brian who is an avid hunter cooked up some great food. We had a wild game feast cooked on the side of the river. I have attached a few pics. The water was looking real good this day. Keep the reels screaming
