River Report

We had rain Sunday night into Monday morning making all the East side creeks and rivers rise again. The rain may continue until later today putting more flow on the rivers. The feeders had been fishing well and should fish again soon. Keep the reels screaming

Elk Creek

Arrived at Elk Creek about 0700. The water was clear but had a heavy cover of slush. We walked to our spot to find two guys waiting for the slush to burn off. While we waited we had a few more guys show up to put the squeeze on us.After the slush started to burn away with the bright sun I managed to hook a nice female. We all started hooking up and it lasted for about three hours. During the fishing time we managed to hook a bunch of smolts. I think we had more smolts than big steel. Almost every spot we went we found them holding with the big fish. I will be posting on my blog http://www.steelheader1.blogspot.com/ for those who want to read a bit more about Ohio.We used single egg, sucker spawn and some streamers for the day. The deeper sections of water had a green tint in the afternoon. Ohio tribs are dropping and the east side tribs should clear quicker than the west side based on the rain we received on Thursday. River Report

I wanted to post this am regarding the rain we received yesterday. The rain hit the far west side mostly and we received snow on the east side. Most of the east side tribs didn't change much. Keep the reels screaming.

Elk Creek

We arrived around 0700 to find the flow up and the water a bit murky. We fished a few holes using Chart SS and eggs and located some fish. We also used black stone flies with different colored thorax. We fished a hole for two hours and then walk down the creek. We walked for about an hour and then stopped and fished a few sections with great results. I got my biggest one from Elk today. It was 12.5 lbs and Eugen, Gary and Paul also fished today with great results. Elk should be prime on Monday and Ohio should start to shape up as long as we get no rain. Keep the reels screaming.

Water Conditions

I wanted to post regarding the snow melt that we are having in N/E Ohio and P.A. With almost 24 inches of snow in the area and a rain storm comming the rivers and creeks should be a bit on the high side for a few days. Keep an eye on the flow charts. Keep the reels screaming
